Knill has been talking to  UEFA Europa League Qualifying 2013 Preview replacements for Howe ever since the man who scored 30 goals over the last two seasons turned down a new contract at Plainmoor.

Wingers Chapell, 21, who returns from Sheffield United after a spell on loan here last season, and Cameron, 20, who has moved from Aston Villa, both penned two-year deals this week.

They have followed striker Elliot Benyon and right-back Dale Tonge into the club.

All are likely to be involved in tomorrow's 'Thankyou' game against the Marines, which is in aid of the Help For Heroes fund.

But first-choice goalkeeper Michael Poke, who has been nursing a thigh strain, may not be risked.

Meanwhile, Howe could go from Plainmoor to Europe in one bound.

The ex-Peterborough United targetman, who says he wants to move North for family reasons, spent a day of talks with Hibs in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

The pressure is on for Hibs – they have had bids for Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths and Falkirk's Lyle Taylor turned down recently, they play a final friendly against Raith Rovers tomorrow night and then go Europa League 2013  into the Europa League next week.

They are due to play away to the winners of the First Qualifying Round tie between Drogheda United and Swedish club Malmo FF on Tuesday
